EARLY PETERSON'S DUBLIN ARMY MOUNT OPERA ESTATE PIPE. VERY RARE PETERSON'S SHAPE! An opera-shaped pipe is characterized by a distinctive oval bowl and a compact overall size.
This classic design was invented for the practical purpose of carrying the pipe in the jacket pocket while spending time at the theater or during an opera performance and for a short smoke between acts, hence its name. Peterson started producing pocket pipes around the beginning of 1900, the pipes received a variety of designs, including an opera shaped pipe. Peterson continues to make pocket pipes to this day.
