Antique Irish Bog Oak Decorative Souvenir Cudgel Carved with Clover & Harp 19 c

  
This great antique carved Irish bog oak cudgel or truncheon probably dates to the end of the 19th c. It features three carved shamrocks and a carved harp as well as a raised spiral band and smooth diamond carved ends.

It is 13 1/4" long and tapers from an approximate diameter of 2" to and approximate diameter of 1 1/4. It has a hole near the end that was made for a wrist loop. I think the piece was entirely formed by hand.
