1873 ANTIQUE LEATHER BOUND VICTORIAN PHOTOGRAPH & SCRAPBOOK ALBUM - IRELAND ETC. A large full red morocco leather bound album with gilt decoration and page edges. Gift inscription dated Xmas 1873, and a subsequent inscription for 1901. Mostly filled and completed with albumen prints of sentimental and romantic images, animals, ethnic and classical costumes etc.
The last few pages have been filled with large albumen photographic views of Ireland, mostly by William Lawrence, circa 1880, including a superb print by his studio of an Irish Jaunting Car. 85 albumen prints, complete, bar evidence of one absent. Some marks and wear to boards, edges rubbed and bumped, spine cover beginning to detach but holding, binding fine, scattered foxing, more pronounced at the start and finish, pages slightly cockled.The prints are in generally good condition. A nice item of Victoriana.
